How can a loving God send anyone to hell? The real question is how could someone reject a loving God? This sermon sums up my feelings about hell. Please watch the whole thing to understand.

  1. I didn’t watch the sermon, but here’s what I think.
    Why does God send people to hell?
    God doesn’t send people to hell. We would all be going there if it weren’t for God. He gives us a way out of hell, a solution! He’s not sending us to hell, but giving us a better way. ❤️

    1. Exactly! hell is avoidable. But if we do not believe then we will go to hell. I do highly recommend that you make some time to watch it though. even if you disagree.

  2. I found it interesting how he tried to explain this tough subject, however there were some scripture I don’t think he knows about, that you should know before fully understanding this subject.

    First the Bible is clear that God is love.
    Revelation 21:4 says that there will be a time with no more no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Therefor it has to end.

    We see that the soul who sins shall die, the wages of sin is death BUT the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Ezekiel 18:20 & Romans 6:23
    Therefor hell can’t be eternal, if eternal life is only given to those who believes in Him.

    Then in Revelation 20:14 it says: Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. Therefor hell is a second death and again can’t be forever.

    What about the eternal fire mentioned in the Bible? Jude 1:7 says that Sodom and Gomorrah suffered the vengeance of eternal fire. Therefor when they mean eternal fire it means that the effect of the fire is eternal because Sodom and Gomorrah are not still burning today.

    Since he brought up the rich man and Lazarus, I would like to first say this is a parable, and if parables where true then trees would be able to talk!

    Parables are designed to teach us something through a story, sort of like the turtle and the hare. I will list 5 other reasons why this should be a parable and not taken literally.
    1. Heaven is not on Abrahams bosom
    2. Those in heaven cannot communicate with those in hell (Isaiah 65:17, Ecclesiastes 9:5)
    3. In the Parable, we know that the rich man went to hell with an actual body after death. However, the bible says that the Body stays in the ground after death (Ecclesiastes 12:7)
    4. The wicked are cast into hell at the end of the world and NOT after they die. (Matthew 13:40-42)
    5. The righteous get eternal life in the 2nd coming and again, not after they die. (Psalms 115:17, Revelation 22:12)
    I would like to end with two different scriptures.
    “He will make an utter end of it. Affliction will not rise up a second time” Nahum 1:9
    What does this say? God will not let affliction or pain come a second time. We see in John 3:16
    For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
    The reson he died is so we could have eternal life and not eternal death.

    I just want to be clear; I’m not trying to show one person is wrong or the other is right but simply discussing this with you. The bible says Come now, and let us reason together. (Isaiah 1:18) In other words let us discus this subject.

  4. Revelations is a tough book in the Bible but when I read Revelations 21:4 I feel like it was taken out of text. For revelation you really need to read the whole thing. This verse is in the end when everything and the end times have passed. When he goes to judge then that is when people will go to hell.

    Well I do love the wages of sin is death. But what it means is that all our wages of sin are death. But God sent his son to die. It doesn’t have anything to do with hell.

    How I feel about Sodom Gamorrah is that they are the people and they could very well be burning today. It is just like the people are the church not the building. Sodom and Gamorrah are the people.

    And something else I don’t understand is how do you know his body went to hell and not his spirit. If you are right and this parable is not true it still teaches us the we are going to hell and will burn there! You said the thing about trees talking, well it says everything worships him and if we dont then the rocks will cry out to him.

    pleas read this link. I love how this guy explains it. In the bible it says that if you lead people astray then you could go to hell. You telling people this might make them feel like. oh well if I just go to hell and burn up and die and then go to heaven then they could start living an unholy life.

    Do you even believe hell is real? I know it is a tough subject but you have to understand how serios it is and how it clearly says in the Bible that we will go there forever.

      Here I think there is a major misunderstanding of what you think I believe, may you PLEASE 🥺 watch this short 15 minute video on this subject so you can see the other side of the story. (I was trying to find a short video because I don’t know how much time you have.)

      The term hell is only mentioned 54 times in the Bible. It was translated from several different words with many different meanings, in the old Testament it appears 31 times in the Hebrew word “Sheol,” which simply means “the grave”. 💀

      However in the New Testament it appears, 10 times from the Greek word “Hades,” which means “the grave”💀, only 12 times from the Greek “Gehenna,” which means “a place of burning”🔥, and 1 time from the Greek “Tartarus,” which means “a place of darkness” ⬛

      So when Jesus said in, The Rich man and Lazarus, “being in torments in Hades” right after death, everyone knew Jesus was telling a fable or an allegory because the Greeks believed that the god Pluto would torment people in the under world right after death. When everyone else heard the term burning Hades they knew it was an allegory because we don’t burn in the grave. (Job 14:12)

      The tree parable was told by a prophet in the book of Judges, the point was that many parables are allegories.

      Now, you said:

      So I decided to double check the context in Revelation 21, and I really don’t think I did because it says in verse, 8 that hell is the 2nd death, Sheol, Hades, grave.

      For the eternal fire in Jude 1:7 it says they suffered not suffering, suffered is past tense. They can’t be burning now because:

      For the living know that they will die; but the dead know nothing, and they have no more reward, for the memory of them is forgotten.
      Also, their love, their hatred, and their envy have now perished; nevermore will they have a share in anything done under the sun.
      ~Ecclesiastes 9:5-6

      Actually, the wages of sin is death does have to do with hell.
      The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
      ~Romans 6:23
      This says you can only live forever IF you have he gift of God.

      Also Jesus said:
      And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
      ~Matthew 10:28

      Why does he say destroy both soul and body in hell, and not torment both soul and body in hell? He wants to restore this world, he doesn’t want to keep the wicked to be tormented, he wants to make a utter end of affliction. (Nahum 1:9)
